Vent: Paid $420 for gutter guards, still cleaning gutters every month
Last spring I hired a company in Marietta to install those mesh gutter guards. They guaranteed no more clogging, said leaves would just wash off. First rainstorm after the oak trees dropped, water was pouring over the sides again. I climbed up there and found the mesh packed solid with those tiny oak catkins, the ones that get mushy when wet. Ended up buying a gutter scoop and spending two Saturdays cleaning the same stuff I was trying to avoid. The guards are still on because ripping them off costs more, but I should have just paid a kid $50 twice a year to clean them. Anyone else fall for this or did I just pick a crap brand?

Shocked you paid that much and still got the same problem, those little oak catkins are pure evil and laugh at any mesh guard. Sounds like you got sold a fancy promise that lasted exactly one rainstorm.
