TIL my neighbor's bamboo plant is NOT a plant - its a biological weapon

I bought a house in Marietta 3 years ago and the previous owner planted a small clump of bamboo along the back fence. Last month my neighbor Bob knocked on my door and showed me the runners poking up through his new sod. He said they traveled about 20 feet under the ground in just one season. I had to dig a trench and install a 30 inch deep barrier to stop it from invading his whole yard. Cost me about $400 and a full weekend of sweat. Has anyone else dealt with a neighbor's landscaping creeping over?

Ngl my neighbor's mint did the same thing but at least it smells good.

At least mint smells better than whatever took over my lawn last summer.
