My HOA board pushed us to ban leaf blowers in Alpharetta, and now I think the whole thing backfired
Two springs ago our HOA in Alpharetta voted to ban gas leaf blowers to cut down on noise and fumes, and I was one of the 31 people who voted yes. I figured it made sense at the time. Then my neighbor's yard crew switched to battery blowers and I watched them go through four battery packs on a single small front lawn on Windward Parkway. Each pack only lasted about 20 minutes, so they were standing around waiting instead of working. What used to take 40 minutes now stretches past two hours, and the crew is on my street longer and louder in a different way. Meanwhile my own yard has more leaf litter than ever because crews are rushing to fit extra houses into the day. I'm not saying gas blowers are great, but I don't think this rule actually made anything calmer. Has anyone else in a north Fulton HOA seen their lawn crews get slower after a blower ban, or is it just mine?
