Just realized I was running my irrigation zones all wrong after a neighbor called me out
My neighbor Dale caught me watering at 2pm on a Saturday and flat out told me I was cooking my fescue and wasting water. I got defensive at first but he walked me through how the county has been pushing early morning cycles for years and I never bothered to check. I looked at my last two water bills and sure enough I'd been paying about $85 more a month during summer compared to what Dale pays with the same size yard in Alpharetta. So I moved all six zones to start at 5:30am and cut each one down by 4 minutes, and my grass actually looks better three weeks in. Anyone else get their watering habits corrected by a neighbor, or is Dale just the only one who cares enough to say something?
