Found a water leak detector at the Alpharetta hardware store, saved my floor

I was grabbing mulch at the Ace off Windward last Saturday and saw a $15 leak sensor on the end cap. I mean, I always figured my sump pump would just handle things, but the guy at the register said his went off during a storm last spring and caught a line drip before it soaked his laminate. I stuck one near the water heater and one under the kitchen sink. Three weeks later, the one by the heater chirped at 2am, turned out the inlet valve was weeping, maybe 20 gallons over a few days. Repair guy said that would've warped the subfloor if I'd waited. Anyone else putting these near their shutoff valves or just the obvious spots?
