The guy at Mauna Kea who showed me how to stack my own astro photos changed everything
He was a random tourist with a laptop in the parking lot, and he spent 20 minutes walking me through DeepSkyStacker on his phone screen. Has anyone here tried stacking with just a DSLR and a tripod?

Ain't it wild how the best teachers are just random people who happen to know something? I've noticed that everywhere, not just with astrophotography. Like the time a guy at the hardware store showed me how to fix a leaky faucet with a rubber band and a zip tie, saved me a hundred bucks. Or the old lady at the bus stop who taught me the trick to peeling ginger with a spoon. It's like the universe drops these little knowledge bombs on you when you least expect it, from folks who just want to help.

Honestly, what gets me is how these random teachers actually make you feel like you're part of some secret club. Like the guy showing you the rubber band trick doesn't want anything from you, he just wants you to know the thing so you can pass it along too. Ngl, it's like the universe's way of reminding us that we're all just winging it together. Nobody's got a manual for life, so it's these little moments of shared knowledge that keep us from drowning. Tbh, the best part is when you later teach that same trick to someone else and see their face light up. It's like a chain reaction of being human, you know?

Yeah, that ginger peeling one got me too. I still use that spoon trick every time I cook now, just like she showed me.
