Just realized the moon in my night photos was upside down compared to what I saw with my eyes

I was stacking some shots of the moon from last week in Western Washington and could not figure out why it looked wrong. Turns out my telescope flips the image horizontally and vertically depending on the diagonal mirror I use. I found this buried in the manual for my 8-inch Dobsonian, page 47 of all places. Has anyone else had that moment where your camera shows something completely different from what you see? Feels like I need to relearn how to compose shots.

Been noticing this in other stuff too. Like how phone cameras make food look totally different colors than what's on the plate. Have had friends argue with me over whether a shirt is blue or green because of how the screen shows it. Cameras and eyes just don't agree on a lot of things.

Nah, that's just optics doing its thing. Isn't that half the fun?
