Can we talk about focal length for deep sky objects

I had to pick between a 50mm and a 135mm lens for shooting nebula from my backyard in Tucson. I went with the 135mm f/2 because I wanted more detail on the Orion Nebula. It's way sharper than I expected but now I'm struggling to frame bigger targets like the Andromeda Galaxy. Has anyone else dealt with this focal length tradeoff?

Tucson has Bortle 6 or 7 skies, how are you getting sharp nebula shots with that much light pollution?

Filters and processing do a lot of the heavy lifting there honestly.
