A short talk with a park ranger changed how I see star trails
I was at Big Bend last month and this ranger pointed at a long-exposure shot and said the streaks are just the Earth showing off its spin, not the stars moving at all. That simple line flipped a switch for me because I always thought of those photos as proof the sky was doing something, when really it's us doing the moving. Does anyone else find that shifting your frame of reference makes certain shots hit way harder than they used to?
