Vent: My mechanic in Reno said to quit changing my oil every 3,000 miles
He pulled the dipstick on my truck at 7,500 miles and the oil still looked clean, so now I'm wondering if I've been wasting $60 every other month for the past 5 years and want to know what interval everyone else actually runs.

What kind of truck and how many miles are on it? After 5 years of the 3k thing I'd just stick with whatever the manual says at this point, most newer ones call for 7,500 to 10,000 anyway. My old Silverado ran 250k on 5k changes and still purred lol.
