TIL my cat having a bad day saved me $200 on vet bills

Last Tuesday my orange tabby Milo hid under the bed for 6 hours straight, which freaked me out so I drove him to the emergency vet in Austin. Turned out he was just mad because I'd switched his litter brand to the cheap stuff from Walmart. Has anyone else had a pet drama over something this small?

oh man, this is SO my life lol. my cat once spent three days giving me the cold shoulder because I dared to buy the unscented litter instead of her favorite lavender one. i was literally googling "cat depression symptoms" at 2am like a crazy person. turns out she just has better taste in bathroom products than i do. i ended up driving back to the store at 7am to get the fancy stuff and she acted like nothing ever happened. so yeah, Milo sounds like a total drama king but at least he only cost you time and anxiety instead of actual money lol.

oh wait, do you think Milo would actually refuse to eat if I swapped his food bowl out for a cheaper one? i keep wondering if he can tell the difference between the stainless steel and the ceramic one i bought on clearance, because he's been giving me this look lately that's just... a lot. i'm starting to worry i've created a monster who judges my home decor choices.
