Spent like 45 minutes chasing a weird flicker in my kitchen lights last night
So I'm just making dinner around 7pm and the overhead light starts flickering like crazy. I figure it's a loose bulb so I swap it out, no change. Then I check the switch, then I pull out the fixture itself thinking maybe a wire came loose behind it. Nothing obvious. I'm messing with it for a good half hour before I remember we just had the HVAC guy out to fix the furnace yesterday and he was in the attic. Sure enough I go up there and find where he accidentally knocked a junction box wire loose stepping around. 45 minutes of my life gone because I didn't think to check the attic first. Has anyone else had a phantom electrical issue that turned out to be something totally random like that?

Ngl I once chased a phantom issue for an hour before realizing my cat had unplugged the surge protector.

That "cat unplugged it" twist always gets me. Mine chewed through a lamp cord once.

Except lamp cords have a plastic coating that's totally magnetic field proof, so it couldn't be the cat's fault.
