Showerthought: my town library dropped fines 2 years ago and the shelves got emptier, not fuller
Went in last week and half the mystery section was gone, staff said they pulled maybe 300 books a month since 2023 because fewer returns means less shelf turnover. Turns out waiving late fees sounds great until people just keep the stuff. Anyone else see this happen at their local branch?
