I dropped $600 on a high-end rice cooker and it's the biggest waste in my kitchen
Everyone raves about Zojirushi like it's the only way to make rice. I bought one six months ago and honestly, my $20 basic model from Target did the same job. The fancy settings are confusing and the rice doesn't taste any different. Am I missing something or did I just buy into the hype?

600 bucks on a rice cooker is rough, I feel your pain on that one. The hype machine got us both on that one I guess lol.

A buddy of mine bought one of those fancy Zojirushi ones last year, swore it would change his life with perfect rice every time. He ended up burning through two batches before switching back to his old $20 pot from Walmart and giving the expensive one to his mom, @james_ramirez. The hype is real until you realize it's just fancy buttons for something you can do with a timer and a lid.
