TIL that hiking Mount Monadnock at 7am on a weekday is way better than fighting crowds on a Saturday afternoon.

Did it last Tuesday and had the summit almost to myself for 20 minutes, while my coworker who went on Saturday said it was a conga line of people the whole way up, anyone else prefer off-peak times for the popular hikes?

Totally feel you on this. I did Mount Major on a random Wednesday morning last fall and had the whole damn ridge to myself. It's the only way to go for the popular spots. Which hike are you thinking about hitting next off-peak?
