The 89 exit ramp in Concord made me rethink my whole commute

I always flew past that construction zone thinking it was just a mess, then got stuck behind three cars doing 35 in the merge lane and realized the bottleneck is actually the ramp design, not the traffic, so does anyone know if DOT has plans to fix that thing or are we all just accepting it?

Three miles of my life just vanished trying to get onto 89 last Tuesday, and I'm pretty sure I aged a decade in that merge lane. I've done the math, it takes longer to get from the ramp to the highway than it does to drive the actual exit, which feels like some kind of sick joke. Honestly, I think the DOT just painted a line on the ground and said "good enough" back in 1987 and called it a day. I did see a survey crew out there last month, but knowing how these things go, they'll probably study it for five years and then suggest adding another traffic light. So yeah, we're all just accepting it, same way we accept that the pothole on the off-ramp has its own personal ecosystem now.
