That guy at the Manchester diner who told me to skip the Kancamagus in winter was dead right

Took his advice back in February and took I-93 instead (boring but safe). Ended up passing 3 spin-outs near Lincoln on my way to North Conway anyway, so I can only imagine how bad that highway would have been. Anybody else got a local tip that actually saved them time or trouble?

45 minutes waiting in a rest area? Man, that's a long time to just sit there sipping gas station coffee staring at white nothing. I get it though, better than ending up in a ditch or worse. I've done my share of pulling over in whiteouts on the notch roads and it always feels like you're being dramatic until you see some guy in a Subaru fly past and disappear into the fog. Glad you made it out okay, that's a real scary way to spend an afternoon.

Hit 302 in a snow squall near Franconia last January and couldn't see 10 feet in front of me. Pulled into the first rest area and sat there for 45 minutes until it passed. Saved my bumper for sure.
