My ancient snowblower finally died on the coldest morning of January near Concord, so I spent an hour digging out by hand while texting my neighbor for recommendations.
It was 5 AM and negative 12 degrees, that old Ariens just coughed once and wouldn't start again no matter how much I yanked the cord, has anyone else had luck with the newer electric models for heavy wet snow?

Oh man, that brings back memories of my old Toro giving up on me during a freak April storm one year. I ended up shoveling for like two hours and my neighbor came out with his new electric one and it just chewed through that slushy mess no problem. Idk if it's the best for the real heavy wet stuff, but it sure looked easier than what I was dealing with.

Hate that feeling when your machine just gives up on you in the middle of a storm, @eva_thompson10. I had my old gas blower die on me once while I was half done with the driveway. Took me forever to finish with a shovel and my back was wrecked for a solid week. That neighbor with the electric one probably thought he was a hero rolling up like that.

Oh you had to finish with a shovel? That's rough, my back hurts just thinking about it. But here's what I'm wondering about that neighbor with the electric one, did he just glide through it like it was nothing or did that battery die halfway through his own driveway? I've seen those things go from hero to zero real quick when the temperature drops. And did you ever figure out what killed your gas blower or did you just toss it and move on?
