Lost $60 on a fake 'hike to a secret waterfall' map

Bought a laminated map from a guy set up near the Kancamagus Highway last fall, said it led to a hidden 80-foot waterfall. Followed it for two hours and ended up at a beaver pond with a broken lawn chair next to it. Guy was gone when I circled back, and the map turned out to be a photocopy of a state park brochure. Anyone else get suckered by one of those roadside map sellers?

Got taken for the exact same thing near Franconia Notch two years back. Paid $40 for a "secret swimming hole" map that led to a muddy ditch with a rusted bumper in it. Felt like an idiot when I found the actual spot was on a free park trail map the whole time.
