Had a perfect week at the Hanover farmers market last month
I've been going to the Hanover farmers market for about three years now, mostly just picking up veggies and eggs. But last month something clicked. I got there early, around 8am, and the sun was coming through the trees just right. Talked to the guy selling maple syrup for like 20 minutes about his sugaring setup in plainfield. Then I grabbed a bunch of kale, some cheddar from a local creamery, and these amazing honey sticks for my kid. Whole trip cost me like 28 dollars and I felt this weird calm driving home, like I finally understood why people move up here for the small town stuff. Has anyone else had a random day or week where everything at a market or festival just felt right?

...and that honey stick guy, did he have the ones that are straight up raw honey or the flavored ones? Because I got burned once on a "honey stick" that was basically just corn syrup with a drop of honey flavoring and it still makes me mad thinking about it. But that whole scene you described, the early morning light and the 20 minute chat about tapping trees, that's the stuff that makes you want to buy a house with a porch and a wood stove. What was that creamery's name on the cheddar, was it from that little place off 91?

Oh man, @spencer_hayes71 beat me to the punch on the honey stick scam. I’ve had that same bait and switch before, still leaves a bad taste. That creamery is called Maple Brook Dairy, and yeah, it’s that little spot just off the 91 exit near the old barn.
