Vent: my oven died 20 minutes into baking a birthday cake for my kid
Heating element just popped and went dark right as the middle was still jiggly, so I finished it in the microwave and it came out rubbery. Kid still ate it, but I spent $14 on good butter for nothing. Anyone got a trick for telling when an element is about to go, or am I just supposed to keep a spare in the drawer?
