TIL the average home cook spends 37 minutes per meal prep but restaurant chefs aim for under 10 - are we overcomplicating things or does quality take time?

I saw a stat on a cooking blog that home cooks take way longer per meal than pros, and now I'm wondering if we should speed up our methods or if that rush ruins the home-cooked feel, what do you all think?

37 minutes seems like a lot - does that include cleanup or just the actual cooking part?

Nah that's total cook time. Cleanup adds another 10-15 minutes easy. I count just the actual cooking part when I track stuff. Like making a simple stir fry takes 20 minutes max including prepping the veggies.
