Swapped my nonstick skillet for cast iron and actually prefer the cleanup

Bought a Lodge pan a few months back after ruining another Teflon one. I figured cast iron would be a pain to scrub but honestly it's easier. Just hot water and a stiff brush, no worrying about scratching the coating. Made pancakes this weekend and they came out way better too. Has anyone else switched pans and found something surprisingly easier?

Yeah, "just hot water and a stiff brush" got me thinking, I started seasoning my spatula too.

Oh man, I used to be such a nonstick snob! I thought cast iron was for camping or something, not everyday cooking. But now I'm totally on your side. The cleanup thing is real - I was sure I'd need to scrub forever but the hot water trick works great. Plus my eggs don't stick anymore after I got the seasoning right. Makes me wish I'd switched years ago honestly.
