My wife bet me $20 I couldn't cook 5 dinners in a row without takeout, and I just finished night 3
Honestly I'm not a great cook, I can do eggs and pasta and that's about it. But last Monday my wife said I'd cave and order pizza by Wednesday, so we shook on $20 and I hit the store with a list. Night one was just browned ground beef with taco seasoning and rice, nothing fancy, but the kids ate it. Night two I did chicken thighs in the oven at 400 for 40 minutes with salt and pepper, and my son asked for seconds which never happens. Tonight was the big test, a stir fry with frozen veggies and soy sauce, and my pan got way too hot and the smoke alarm went off. Two more nights to go, and I'm already nervous about Thursday. What's the easiest meal you'd hand to somebody who barely knows their way around a stove?
