My rice cooker lid latch snapped off last night during dinner prep
I was making rice for my kids and the plastic latch broke clean off when I closed it. Steam went everywhere and the rice came out half crunchy. Has anyone found a way to fix these cheap lids or should I just toss the whole thing?

Wait hold on, I don't think that's quite right about it being 100 bucks. Most of those rice cookers with the flimsy plastic latches are like $20-$30 at the grocery store. The expensive ones use metal latches and thicker lids. If someone paid 100 bucks for a rice cooker and the latch snapped, they got seriously ripped off lol. But yeah the cheaper ones definitely have that issue, the plastic gets brittle after a few months of heat and steam. You can probably find replacement lids online if you look up the model number, but honestly for how cheap these things are it's usually easier to just grab a new one from Target. Just make sure you check the reviews first so you don't end up with the same problem again.

Bought my buddy one last year for his birthday, second time he used it the handle just came off in his hand. He was so pissed he just threw the whole thing in the trash.
