My dad swore by putting butter in spaghetti sauce and I laughed at him for 10 years
Finally tried it last Wednesday after grabbing some cheap pasta at Aldi and honestly it made the sauce way less acidic and more smooth. Has anyone else had an old family trick that seemed crazy but actually works?

My friend swears by adding a splash of pickle juice to her chili, I thought she was nuts until I tried it, and it actually made the whole thing taste richer.

Are you sure it's pickle juice and not the vinegar and salt doing the heavy lifting there?
