Heard some kid in a grocery store ask what a 'cookbook' was
I was grabbing onions at the ShopRite in Wilmington last Saturday and overheard a teenager ask their mom if a cookbook was like a 'physical recipe blog.' Made me feel ancient. I remember my mom's copy of the Betty Crocker cookbook from 1979 that had stained pages and handwritten notes in the margins. Does anyone still keep a real cookbook on their counter or is it all phones and tablets now?

Honestly it's not that deep. Kids say stuff like that all the time, it doesn't mean cookbooks are dead or whatever. I have a stack of cookbooks on my counter right now and a tablet in the drawer but I use both. The whole 'kids today don't know what a book is' thing feels forced. This one kid asked a question and suddenly it's a commentary on modern society. I bet that same kid could teach you how to optimize a recipe search on their phone in two seconds flat. Different tools for different people, you know?
