Update: watched a 30 year old trench map line up with a drone shot at a site in County Meath
I compared a 1994 paper survey map to a fresh drone orthophoto of the same field in County Meath and the old ditch lines matched the crop marks almost dead on, within about a meter. The change came from lidar and cheap drones, not from any new digging, which is why so many reports of "new" sites are really just old features finally showing up in the data. Has anyone else seen a paper map beat a modern survey at their own site?
