Spent 3 hours at a dig near Flagstaff sifting with a screen before switching to flotation and finding 40 seeds in one bucket
Last weekend I was working a pit house site outside Flagstaff and ran dry screens for the first half of the day. We found maybe 5 tiny flakes total and I was getting ready to call it a wash. Then our field lead set up the flotation tank and pulled 40 charred seeds and 12 tiny bone bits out of a single 10 liter bucket. The heavy stuff sinks and the light stuff floats, so you stop losing the small pieces through the mesh. Anyone else had flotation completely change what they find at a site?
