I think the mainstream take on Göbekli Tepe is missing a huge piece of the puzzle
Everyone talks about how the site in Turkey rewrites human history because hunter-gatherers built it, but that's the only part they focus on. I was reading a paper by Dr. Lee Clare that argues the real story is the deliberate burial of the structures around 8000 BCE, which was a massive, planned act. That changed how I see the site, it's not just about the building, it's about the intentional ending. Has anyone else looked into the closure phase more than the construction?

Yeah, my own houseplants don't get that kind of planned goodbye.

My aloe vera plant got a full funeral last year, complete with a shoebox coffin. I mean, I felt bad because I forgot to water it for like three months. My spider plant just got tossed in the trash when it turned brown, no ceremony at all. It really depends on how attached I am, idk.

Does the spider plant know you just tossed it though? @smith.ray I feel like they can tell the difference, and that’s kind of harsh. I still have a shriveled succulent from 2019 sitting on my shelf because I can’t bring myself to throw it in the trash. It’s like a tiny dried monument to my own failures.
