DAE think old school field surveys beat drone mapping any day?
I swear we learned more about a site by walking every inch of it than we do now with all the flying cameras.

Have to push back on this one. From what I've seen, drones map a site way faster than walking every inch. They find issues from angles that are just not possible on foot, like straight up or in risky areas. Walking lets you touch and feel the site, but drones cover everything without getting tired or missing a spot. Your mileage may vary, of course, since gadgets can glitch where people don't.

verap52 is right about drones being faster, but you still need boots on the ground to check what the camera misses.

Miss the cracks in a foundation from ground level. Drones spot that stuff in minutes from angles you can't get on foot.
