Jumped right into that with you @joseph932 because I know exactly what you mean. I was out near the Rio Grande last spring, just wandering without a map, and stumbled onto this tiny slot canyon that wasn't on any trail. Total luck no planning at all. Had the whole place to myself for two hours, just sitting there watching the light change through the cracks above. Those accidents are way better than any planned trip I've ever done.
