Wasted $200 on a cheap pole pruner that snapped on the third branch

Bought a no-name brand from a hardware store last spring and the fiberglass handle splintered right at the joint, has anyone else had better luck with a specific brand under $100?

Oh man, that exact same thing happened to me last summer! I grabbed one of those cheapo pole pruners from the big box store and it literally cracked on the second big branch I tried to cut. Snapped right where the pole connects to the head just like you said. Total waste of money, and I was so mad because I had to climb up a ladder to finish the job. Now I just borrow my neighbor's Fiskars when I need to prune anything higher than my shoulder. Definitely not buying another cheap one again.

@the_olivia I kinda disagree actually - my $70 one from Harbor Freight has lasted two seasons so far. Sometimes you just get a lemon, doesn't mean every cheap pole pruner is trash.
