The oak tree in my neighbor's yard that fought back

I was called out to remove a big oak in Springfield that had a huge hornet's nest inside a hollow limb. We planned for a half day, but those hornets were not having it. It took three full days, two beekeeper suits, and a lot of running before we finally got it down. Has anyone else had a simple removal turn into a multi-day wildlife standoff?

Heard a similar story about a raccoon family holding up a roof job for a week.

Raccoon family holding up a roof job" - classic. It's funny how often stuff like that happens. Like the universe just picks a random day to throw a wrench in your plans. I noticed it with my own stuff. Every time I try to do a quick errand, something pops up. A dead car battery. A neighbor needs help moving a couch. A package goes missing. Life just has this way of making small jobs turn into big headaches.

Three days for one tree sounds about right for those hornets.
