That perfect weather week last spring almost made me miss a major hazard
Had a week in late May where temps were perfect and not a single gust of wind, so I was cranking through removals like crazy. But I got so focused on the easy conditions that I nearly didn't notice a big crack in a limb overhead until my ground guy yelled at me. Anyone else have a streak of good weather make them drop their guard?

Oh man that's too real, same thing happened to me last spring. Perfect stretch of weather had me moving too fast and I completely missed a widowmaker hanging over a house until my guy started screaming.

Started moving too fast" is exactly the problem here. Look, I get it, the weather was perfect and you wanted to get ahead. But you blaming the weather or the pace is just an excuse. That branch was always there. If you were paying attention from the start, you would have caught it. This idea that you can only do good work when conditions are perfect is just lazy. I've worked on crews where the guys were checking trees in rain, snow, whatever. You don't get to blame the nice day for a mistake. That's on you and your crew for not being thorough enough.
