That $250 mist blower was a complete waste of money

Bought a cheap mist blower off Amazon for a big apple orchard job in Hood River last spring. Worked fine for two days then the pump seized up and sprayed chemical all over me. Had to finish the whole block with a hand pump backpack like a rookie. Anyone else had luck with a specific brand that won't leave you covered in fungicide?

Man that Hood River orchard job sounds rough. I accidentally dumped a half tank of copper spray on my boots last spring and still find green splatter on my favorite work jeans. Those cheap Amazon mist blowers are basically toys for backyard tomatoes not real orchards. I picked up a used Solo 475 from a guy in Salem who was switching to drones and it's been solid for two seasons now. Still got chemical all over my hands changing the nozzle but at least it didn't pump it into my face. You'd think for $250 they could at least make a pump that doesn't turn your apple trees into a crime scene.

HEY now, I gotta push back a little on that! I've been running one of those cheap Amazon mist blowers for three seasons now on my five acre orchard and honestly it's been fine. Yeah it's not gonna last forever but for $80 it does the job if you take the time to dial in the mixture right. I think people blame the equipment when really it's user error half the time. You gotta shake the tank every few minutes or the copper settles and clogs everything up. That Solo 475 is nice gear no doubt but not everyone has $250 to drop on a used sprayer either.
