Swore I would never prune oaks in July, did it on a Milwaukee job and lost 2 of 6
Everyone in my crew says July pruning kills oaks with wilt, so I told the homeowner in Wauwatosa no way, then did it anyway after he pushed back and two of six trees died by August. Now I want to know if any of you have actually seen oak wilt hit a summer prune or if this is one of those rules we just pass around.
