Spent 45 minutes trying to figure out why my chainsaw wouldn't start...

Turned out I just had the choke in the wrong position the whole time. My coworker walked by and flipped it for me without saying a word. Has anyone else had a stupid simple fix make them feel like a total rookie?

That "walked by and flipped it without saying a word" part hit close to home. I'd recommend putting a brightly colored zip tie on your choke lever so you can see at a glance if it's in the right position. Saved me from doing that same rookie move on my weed eater more times than I care to admit.

My buddy did the exact same thing with his pressure washer last summer. He was out there for like 40 minutes pulling the cord, checking the gas, even pulled the spark plug to see if it was wet. His neighbor just walked over, didn't say a word, moved the choke lever one click, and it fired right up first pull. He said he wanted to just walk back inside and pretend he was done with yard work for the day.
