Question about using a trunk injection system for a client's sick oak
I was always skeptical about systemic treatments, thinking they were a gimmick, but a job on a 60-year-old pin oak in Decatur changed my mind. The client insisted on trying a micro-injection for chlorosis, and after one season, the leaf color improved dramatically. Has anyone else had a specific case where an injection proved its worth?

Oh man, I had the same thing with a red maple last spring. We used a chelated iron product called Ferriplus, injected at the base. The leaves went from pale yellow to a decent green by late summer. It was a real turn-around.

My neighbor's maple had that yellow look for three years and it never got worse. The soil test showed the pH was just a bit high, not a full iron lockout. Sometimes they just look off for a season.
