My old foreman in Tulsa said something about topping pines that I still argue with
He told me 15 years ago you never top a pine, you take it down or leave it, and I nodded along like it was gospel. Last Tuesday a homeowner in Broken Arrow asked me to just trim the top back and I caught myself explaining his own rule back to him. So here is my question, is topping ever defensible on a 60 foot pine or is that just a lazy shortcut nobody wants to admit?
