My new rope snapped 15 feet up a white oak in Decatur
It was a fresh hank of 11mm, first real climb on it. I had to grab a limb and yell for my ground guy to toss up the spare. Anyone have a brand that holds up better under sudden dynamic loads?

Man, that's a scary situation to be in. I've had gear fail before and it really shakes your trust. What brand was the rope that broke on you?

That kind of gear failure is no joke, @jamienguyen. My buddy had a carabiner gate fail on a simple rappel, not from a big fall. Turned out it was a cheap knockoff he bought online, not the brand he thought. Makes you triple-check everything you clip into now.
