My climb line got nicked by a stub I walked right past, caught it on the way down
Was limbing a silver maple in Rochester on Tuesday and felt the sheath snag about 20 feet off the ground. Turned out a 3 inch stub from a cut I made earlier was poking straight out, and it chewed through the outer jacket enough that I retired the line on the spot. Anyone else get lazy about stubs on the sunny side of the tree where you can't see them?
It is funny how we do that with all kinds of stuff, like the one box in the garage we keep saying we will move later. The blind spots always come back to bite us when we least expect it.
