Just wasted $300 on a cheap chainsaw sharpener that barely touched the chain
The electric sharpener I bought off Amazon couldn't keep a consistent angle and actually rounded off my teeth, so I ended up taking it to a shop for a proper hand file job, has anyone else fallen for those budget sharpeners?

My buddy bought one of those, spent an hour messing with it, and his chain ended up worse than when he started. He just bit the bullet and paid a guy $15 to do it right after that.

Who hasn't wasted an afternoon trying to save a few bucks, only to end up with a chain that sounds like a dying blender? I did that last spring, spent two hours with a chain tool and ended up with a link that wouldn't even budge. Took it to a shop, the guy fixed it in five minutes and probably laughed at me after I left. Makes you wonder if we're just paying for the confidence that comes with not messing it up yourself.
