I finally switched from a top-handle saw to a rear-handle for pruning live oaks

After 6 months of wrestling with a top-handle on 12-inch limbs here in Savannah, I grabbed a used Stihl 362 and my cut accuracy jumped way up, anyone else find the extra weight worth it for bigger jobs?

Heck yeah, rear handles are way better for that stuff!

Whoa hang on, a 362 is a pro saw but that's a whole different weight class for pruning live oaks. You're gonna feel that thing after a few hours of reaching up, trust me. I run a 261 for that exact work around here and it's plenty for those 12-inch limbs without killing your arms. The 362 is more for felling and bucking big stuff. Just saying, you might wanna keep a top-handle for the smaller cuts or you'll be buying ibuprofen in bulk.
