I finally saw what emerald ash borer damage looks like up close in Denver

Took a crew to a 40 year old ash on Monaco Parkway last Friday and the bark was peeling in weird ribbons while the top third was completely dead, so has anyone else found those D-shaped exit holes way lower on the trunk than the guides say?
