Watched a 12 year old dryer go from 45 minute cycles to 3 hours over 6 months, the lint trap had nothing to do with it
Customer in Tacoma called me out because her dryer was taking forever and she swore she cleaned the lint trap every load. I pulled the vent run and found it was flexible foil hose sagging into a loop, packed solid with lint about 8 feet in. The trap was spotless the whole time, the real clog was hiding behind the dryer where nobody looks. Replaced it with rigid 4 inch pipe and cycles dropped back to 50 minutes. How often do you guys check the duct run versus just the trap?
