Took a 20 year old fridge apart in Tulsa and the evaporator fan was held in with a zip tie from a previous tech

I laughed at that zip tie for about ten minutes until I realized it had been holding perfectly for 7 years, so I put a new one back in and now I wonder how many of us are quietly running the same kind of field fix, has anyone else found a hack job that actually worked better than the factory part?
