Talked to a retired repairman at the hardware store on Elm Street last Tuesday

He told me he never bothers with OEM parts for washing machine pumps, says the aftermarket ones last just as long if you clean the lint trap regularly. I've always stuck with OEM and now I'm wondering if I've been wasting money on parts. Any of you guys use aftermarket parts for major repairs?

Yeah but at least yours was dramatic skyler_lane83. I just shorted out a perfectly good toaster for a 2 dollar cord. Not even a good story out of it.
