Spent 4 hours on a dryer that would not heat, turned out to be a $9 part I skipped
Had a Kenmore dryer last Thursday in Tempe that would tumble fine but blow cold air. I checked the heating element, the thermal fuse, and the cycling thermostat, all tested good, so I pulled the vent and cleaned about 3 pounds of lint out. Still cold. Swapped the igniter on a hunch and it fired right up, the old one had a hairline crack I missed with my meter because it read fine cold. Four hours for a $9 part, and I only found it because I wiggled the wires while it was running. Anyone got a better way to catch a cracked igniter on the first pass?
