Overheard a tech say he never checks the drain pump filter, big mistake
Was picking up parts at the local supplier this morning and heard one of the younger guys telling someone he never bothers with the drain pump filter on washers. Said it 'wastes time' and he just swaps the pump if it's clogged. Tbh, that scared me. I've seen more than a few machines where a simple filter clean would've saved the customer a $200 pump replacement. He also mentioned he never runs a diagnostic cycle before quoting a new board. Has anyone else come across this shortcut attitude? How do you handle it when a customer repeats what another tech told them?
